Compassionate, evidence-based care for women and mothers

Welcome to a dedicated space for women and mothers. At She Thrives Psychology, we are experienced in perinatal and women’s mental health, supporting you through the emotional transitions that life brings. Our practice emphasises a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment where your well-being is nurtured with professionalism and care.

Rebecca (Bec) a highly experienced psychologist with advanced experience in perinatal and women’s mental health, developed over more than 20+ years of clinical practice. She worked extensively across a variety of mental health fields and with complex presentations as the senior psychologist. Her latest and current role across the last 9 years has been within a specialised mother and baby mental health unit at the Gold Coast Hospital, supporting women and families through some of the most vulnerable periods of their lives.

Her broader experience spans a wide range of acute and high-intensity settings within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services, including the Crisis Stabilisation Unit, Emergency Department, oncology services, and Acute Mental Health Units. In these roles, she has provided critical psychological care to individuals experiencing significant distress, risk, and complexity. Across her career, she has also worked within drug and alcohol services, trauma-focused settings, with individuals experiencing long-term unemployment, and within incarceration systems. This depth and breadth of experience allows her to understand the many layers that contribute to mental health challenges and to tailor care accordingly.

Her approach is grounded in a humanistic, compassionate, and a non-judgemental framework. She prioritises creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported, while also drawing on evidence-based therapies to facilitate meaningful and lasting change.

Along with many other therapies, she is accredited in EMDR.
